Hello there,
The thought of writing a blog is a bit intimidating to me, however, I have so many ideas and visions in my head that I think that it is time to put pen to paper.
Shine Bright Label Co. began with a conversation between friends and wanting more options in the fabric notions world that I wasn't finding for myself. Knowing I wasn't alone, I set out on a venture to find a way to create what I was looking for. However, I didn't expect such an incredible community to blossom in its trail. We are coming up on our six-month anniversary, and I am blown away by all the label love, sharing, chatting, and friendships that have been formed, just because of some labels and a passion for sewing. Shine Bright has reached every single state as well as four other countries already, and our Facebook community has almost reached 2000 members!
We are a small, family-run business. You may notice the stickers on your packaging are upside down... the truth is I do stickers just so my daughters can feel like they are a part of the fulfillment process. They also help with design ideas and get so very excited when our product arrives... you would think it is Christmas morning! I feel so blessed to have found a way to balance staying home with them, but also getting to work and create as well!

Here is my vision for this blog as we move forward: I want this to be a place to share tips, tricks, and creative makes, but I also want this to be a space to showcase other businesses and creators in our community as well! Shine Bright wouldn't be where we are today without all the love and support of my amazing friends and fellow business owners in the sewing world, and I would like to extend that to others as well. Each Friday moving forward, I will have another creator take over the blog and share what they wish! I already have the next month lined up and am so excited to see what becomes of this. I hope you are too!
I will finish with my top tips for label application:
1. Glue sticks! Yep, just the standard washable glue sticks. They are the magic that holds your labels in place while you sew them on!

2. Always check your stitch settings before you start (I've learned the hard way one too many times and accidentally zig zagged). Straight stitch with a longer length (I keep it around 3 or 4). You don't need special needles or thread, I just use whatever is on my machine already!
3. Hand-crank your circles. Trust me on this one. I have yet to do a perfect circle without going as slow as a turtle. It is worth it in the end!
Stay tuned and come back next Friday for our first guest blogger!
Happy Friday!
-Kelsey
